Main Street Elementary School Host Family Literacy Night
MSE had their GAME ON as they kicked off their Family Literacy Night on September 19, 2017. Parents and students were welcomed by Mrs. Prosser and received the Pledge of Allegiance from fourth grader Montez Thames. Mrs. Linda Hair presented Title 1 information, and Mrs. Kirby informed parents about Reading to Succeed and the newly implemented Third Grade Retention Program. Librarian Mrs. Miles informed parents how students could read their way to the Big Game.She also did a Read Aloud from the book, “Whoever You Are.” Parents and students participated in grade level breakout sessions, where they were able to practice a read aloud with the assistance of teachers. Students received free books to enhance their developmental reading levels, as well as books to read for their nightly reading logs. At MSE we are Game On and In It to Win It for Literacy!
